Valentine's Day Favorites and Gift Ideas

We’re days away from Valentine’s Day (or Lovers Day as I like to call it) and I’m excited to share with you some of my favorite things to inspire you to get for that special someone (or for yourself).

If you’re anything like me, you should be treating yourself to an excessive amount of Valentine’s Day candy, champagne, good food, and sappy love stories. With all of the loss we’ve experienced as a collective, this year’s Valentine’s Day is all about loving yourself and your tribe of friends and family.

Now let’s get into these lists! I’ve included items all at all different price points for the well-fed and hungry pocketbooks alike.

1. Chanel 19 Bag – I saw this bag and it literally took my breath away! If you’re looking to have the best Valentine’s Day of your life (yes, your entire life) then this is the gift for you (especially if you have well-fed pockets).

2. Nude Candle – Being a firm believer in the energetic power of candles, I had to have this brown nude candle to beckon the ultimate feminine energy in my space.

3. Molton Brown Body Wash – The story goes, I ran out of my basic body wash and asked my mom if she had any and she gave me a DOLLOP of this body wash and my life was changed. The alluring fragrance and long-lasting moisture that this body wash provides is out of this world.

4. Name Plate Necklace – All of my Sex in the City fans know about the infamous Carrie necklace. The iconic scene when she finds her necklace after losing herself in Paris is such a beautiful reminder to never lose who you truly are.

5. Art Print – Doesn’t this print give you all of the luxurious single girl vibes?

6. Coco Mademoiselle Chanel Perfume – This is a tried-and-true classic smell that oozes femininity.

7. Heartbeat Bath Bomb – It smells good with hints of gold. Enough said. Also, be prepared to come out of the bathtub smelling like a rose garden.

8. Diptyque Baies Candle – This is the most intoxicating candle on the market. Even in this smaller option, it will fill your space fragrantly.

9. Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial Rose – Because love is to be celebrated with pink bubbly. This Rose has the perfect amount of sweetness that even the pickiest drinkers will enjoy.

10. Floral Arrangement – Is it even Valentine’s Day without roses? This over-the-top arrangement was designed by a local florist here in Houston.

11. Comme Des Garcons Chuck Taylor - If you don’t subscribe to the superstition about people walking out of your life if you buy them shoes. This take on the classic Chuck Taylor is the perfect pair for you and your boo.

12. Huda Beauty Red Lipstick – A red is lip is essential to my makeup routine (or lack thereof). This lipstick compliments literally every brown girl's skin tone and the wear is long-lasting without drying your lips.

Now to all of my boo’d up ladies don’t worry I’ve got you covered as well. I’ve put together a list of my favorite things for men that is sure to not only impress him but to upgrade him (Beyonce taught me) as well.

1. Coach Hudson Bag – Every man needs a good weekend bag/backpack, and this bag has enough space to pack clothes, essentials, and even a laptop while maintaining style.

2. Blue Light Lenses – These lenses are inexpensive and distinguished all the while protecting your sexy daddy’s eyes.

3. Maison Oud Cologne – This cologne is the most delicious smelling fragrance I’ve smelled for men in a while. (EXTRA! Le Labo’s Noir 29 came in at a CLOSE second)

4. L’Occitane Hand Cream – Simply put, ashy fingers are for ashy men and we’re not doing ashy men in 2021.

5. The Way of The Superior Man – This book is the cheat code. If your guy hasn’t read it yet, stop everything you’re doing and buy this book. Thank me later.

6. James Baldwin Art Print – James Baldwin is one of my favorite intellectuals and this colorful depiction of him is the perfect piece for your “woke” boo.

7. Kiehl’s Body Oil – This body oil is light and moisturizing and can be used on his beard too.

8. Dom & Gray Candle – This candle is THE sexiest smell around. The tobacco and suede notes make for a perfectly balanced aroma that your beau will love.

9. D’Usse XO – Go ahead and upgrade his cognac choice to this fan favorite. (Hey Siri, play Drunk in Love)

10. Hanes Grey Sweatpants – Do I really need to explain this one?

11. Comme Des Garcons Chuck Taylors – I’m loving this shoe for both men and women. What a cute way to match each other’s fly!

12. Cartier Juste Un Clou Bracelet – This piece exudes understated class making it an unforgettable must-have.
